Delving into the World-of-Reos, already read the Newbie Guide, and still a bit lost? We’re here to help
Before anything, you’ll want to make sure you have two things:
What you can start with depends on what you have right now:
- An account on the LoreKeeper, This is absolutely mandatory to play the game, and it must be linked to your DeviantArt account.
- You can link your LK to your dA by clicking your name on the right-hand side in LK, choosing ‘Settings’ from the dropdown, then choosing ‘Aliases’ from the bar on the right and choosing ‘Link DeviantArt Account’.
- We don’t use LoreKeeper to house characters - imports will be staying on dA in the Reos-Empire gallery!
- A Discord account. This is where a bulk of communication in the game goes down, including News posts and votes for various things (Reosean of the Month, etc). While it’s possible to play the game without Discord, it’s not recommended. You can find our Discord linked on the WoR front page on dA!
What you can start with depends on what you have right now:
- If you own your own import, you can jump right in doing any of the core images and activities!
- If you own a geno, you can get it designed and submitted to become an import! Design approval usually takes some time, and the wait is usually 2-3 weeks barring any issues that need corrections.
- If you don't have an import or geno yet but still wish to participate, check out if there are any group events running, where you can enter the prompts with one of the group’s Starters! Events always allow for people to use the group owned reoseans (Starters) so that you still have an opportunity to enter!
Once you have an Import, you can go about doing core images and activities
Activities in WoR are broken up into a few categories: Core Images and regular Activities. These can be done in art or writing, and can be done solo or in collaboration with other players!
Core Images are sets of images that contribute directly to the development of your Reosean within the game, and may have prerequisites.
|
Activities are images that garner loot within the game, some of these may also have prerequisites.
|
Aside from Cores and Activities, there are a few other things you can do around the game that don’t require art/lit. These are...
- Gathering: A loot grab activity that is only available to paramount reoseans, but can be done weekly!
- Breeding: Each player gets a specific number of times they can breed per month, but they can use breedable reoseans they own, or slots from other players to get new genos for themselves to turn into imports, sell/trade with other players, or turn into the adoption centre for Krones!
- Shopping: On Lorekeeper you can find shops where you can buy items in exchange for currency!
- Adoption Center: Here's where you can select from donated genos/imports that are available to get up to two free per month!
- Reosean of the Month: Each month, a new reosean can be picked to win a trophy to put on their import! You can vote for your choice (although it cannot be one of your own) in the corresponding channel on Discord!
- Guilds: Guilds are a fun, community based aspect that bring additional bonuses to certain activities as well as bring the players together! Guilds often host their own events, have exclusive import backgrounds to use, and more! You can make your own, or join a preexisting one that is accepting new players!
Alright, I have all that, but how do I submit things?
- Submissions for core activities and events may be hosted on deviantArt, Sta.sh, or in the LoreKeeper galleries. Literature roleplays may also be hosted on the forums on LoreKeeper as well. All of these things can be linked directly in trackers and prompt submissions. Other misc. CP submissions may be hosted elsewhere such as Gdocs or Toyhouse, but a good rule of thumb is if an admin needs to check it and link it anywhere, it needs to be on dA or LK.
- Prompts are submitted on LoreKeeper. The prompts will automatically limit you if there are daily/weekly/monthly/lifetime submission limits so you don’t need to worry about submitting too many! Please read all of the information under the dropdown listed “Details” in each prompt for more information on how to submit each one!
What about leveling up my reoseans? What’s a tracker and how do I make one?
- Before you start working on your Reosean, it's good to read up on the Credit Point System. The CP system allows your Reosean to climb through the Political Status ranks and receive bonuses for it. Each image of your Reosean will give them a certain amount of Credit Points that add to their total. This is why you should create a tracker for your Reosean! Whenever your Reosean hits a certain rank, make sure to submit it to Political status updates where an admin will double-check your counts and update your Reosean's Political Status.
- Trackers may be hosted wherever you wish, but they must be viewable by admins to be able to count! Common places where trackers are hosted are: dA journals, Weebly, gSites, Toyhouse, but you are not limited to just those as long as it’s easy to read and accessible.
- If you’re unsure of the CP count of a particular piece, there is a channel in the Discord for asking those sorts of questions!
- If you purchase an import, it is highly recommended you make your own tracker for them and save all of their art and literature there, as their previous owners could remove their trackers and then the CP is lost unless you have everything backed up.
- If you’re unsure of the CP count of a particular piece, there is a channel in the Discord for asking those sorts of questions!
Group Semi Sales? Does this group require us to actually buy things?
- Semi Sales are a completely optional part of the game where the group hosts sales for real life currency to raise funds for the group and offer items for sale that sometimes aren’t available elsewhere. This doesn’t mean that they cannot be obtained from other players through various means if purchasing isn’t an option for you.
- The main focus of the Semi Sales is to sell Semi parts for people to make their own reoseans outside of breeding, but depending on which sale it is, other items and slots are available to purchase as well.
- There is almost always a free raffle each sale, along with the occasional paid raffle for something shiny.
- Purchases are paid for in USD via PayPal.
- There are occasionally other events with paid raffles, but no one is required to enter these or pay money to get anywhere in the game.
