Starting Out
Q: Can I join the group? Does my art skill matter?
A: Of course you can join and welcome to World-of-Reos. The group is completely open for anyone of any skill level to join whether they have a Reosean or not.
Q: Can I make my own Reosean?
A: Unfortunately because they are a closed species, you cannot make your own Reosean. You can purchase a semicustom from Eternityspool and Kelyias when a sale is announced or from another member if they are selling theirs. This would be similar to an "MYO" in other closed species, with specific rules of how they work that are stated during each semicustom sale.
Q: How to I get a Reosean?
A: There are a couple different ways to get your first Reosean!
Q: What is a "geno"? How do I read it?
A: A geno is the genetic information given to a Reosean on the Breeding Request board that shows what body/fur type, traits, and markings it has. For Example...

Q: How to I get a Reosean?
A: There are a couple different ways to get your first Reosean!
- You could wait to buy a semicustom from the group when a sale is announced.
- You could use art or characters to trade another member for an import or geno (please only inquire about trades if the user has noted they have an import/geno for sale -- unless premiers and/or other Reoseans are specifically put up for trade/sale, it is against the rules to message people about them). Try checking the Advertisements folder in the group.
- You can buy a geno or import from another member who has one for sale. Try checking the Advertisements folder in the group, or the advertisements channels in our discord (which can be found at the top right corner of the WoR dA group page).
- You can buy or trade for slots to two Reoseans and breed your own litter.
- You can adopt one from the Adoption Centre.
Q: What is a "geno"? How do I read it?
A: A geno is the genetic information given to a Reosean on the Breeding Request board that shows what body/fur type, traits, and markings it has. For Example...
1) (Female - Vayron - Runner - Healthy)
F: Lisse Coat T: Vulpes Ears, Feline Tail, Round Eyes P: Dusted, Freckled Midnight with Rosettes G: Mid+Du/Fr/nRo |
The first line tells you that it is a female vayron, with the runner body type, and has no health defects (obtained via inbreeding).
The second line tells you the fur type. This vayron has a lisse (the most common) coat. The third line tells you what the Vayrons ears, tail, and eyes will look like. The fourth line is the "phenotype," an easy-to-read explanation of the vayron's markings and base coat color. This vayron has a midnight base coat with the following markings; dusted, freckled, and rosettes. The fifth line is the "genotype," it is the genetic 'code' of the vayron. It shows the base coat's code and the dominant or recessive nature of each marking. |
Designing, Approval, and Uploading
Q: What does it matter if a marking is dominant or recessive?
A: Some markings act differently when they are dominant than recessive. You may refer to the specific marking on the Markings and Genotypes page for each marking's coverage and how it acts in both its dominant and recessive form.
Q: How long does it take for a design to be approved/when will my design be approved?
A: It depends on the current workload of the Design Approval team. It may take anywhere from a day to a week or sometimes more (especially if there's just been a large influx of designs like from a semi-custom sale). The Design Approval team tries to go through as fast as they can.
Q: What happens if something is wrong with my design?
A: If something about your design is pinged as being wrong, you'll be sent to the Design Approval Corrections thread. You can change what the Approval team member pointed out to you and resubmit your design for approval.
Q: My design has been approved, now what?
A: Your Reosean has been put into the queue to be uploaded to the Reos-Empire account. You don't need to do anything else! Just wait patiently (as hard as it is!) for them to be uploaded.
Q: Can I draw my Reosean before it's been uploaded to Reos-Empire?
A: Of course! It's better to wait and make sure your design has been approved first, but after approval feel free to begin having fun with your new Reosean!
Q: How long does it take an approved Reosean to be uploaded?
A: As with approvals it can take anywhere from a few days to a week or so. The Uploading team works through the queue as quickly as they can while still trying to not comment lock the account that may need to be used by other mods.

Activities
Q: What are trials?
A: Trials, Purity Trials, or PoB are a set of prompts your Reosean must complete before they are able to breed. You can read more information about them here: The Purity Trials
Q: Does (insert activity here) have to be done on my Reosean's home continent?
A: The only three activities that must be done on your Reosean's home continent are the Journey trial and Hunter & Traveler Initial Class Quests. Any other activity may be done on any continent, but note that you will not receive the corresponding land bonus CP if your Reosean is on a continent to which they do not have citizenship.
Q: I can't draw, can I do literature?
A: By all means yes! Each activity also lists a minimum word count for literature entries if you would prefer to write your story than drawing it.
Q: Can I bond two of my own Reosean's together? Can siblings bond? Can I bond my Reosean to their humanoid companion?
A: Yes to all three!
Q: Does (insert activity here) need a humanoid companion or other Reosean companion?
A: Any activity that needs a companion (humanoid or Reosean) will have that listed in the activities requirements. You can find the rules on companions here.

Battle
Q: Why call the weapons Physical / Defensive / Arcana?
A: It's a catch all for all types of weapons that would fall into those categories! For example, Physical is anything that requires attacking with a physical object. This includes close range combat as well as ranged.
-- Instead of limiting Physical to something like a sword or bladed weapons, it broadly includes bows, spears, daggers and other types of physical based weapons.
-- Defensive weapons include all the styles of shield and shielding, and a table if the reosean so wished. It is not limited to physical shields, and can be a magical one.
-- Arcana encompasses staves, wands and magical foci. If it channels magic, it works as a magical weapon.
Because Arcana weapons require magic to wield them, a Reosean needs to have their Sparked completed.
Q: Do we have to follow the in game representation of the Armour / Weapons closely?
A: Not at all! You are free to create your own style for your reosean. As long as it fits into the broad categories for the weapon/armour it's all good!
Q: How many weapons can I equip, can I have one of each type?
A: Just one total! Not one of each type.
Q: I don’t understand my corrupted reosean and the magic stat?
A: If your corrupted reosean has no magic, it has a magic stat of 0. If your reosean has used the remnant stone, it has a magic stat of 7. These are the only two magic stats possible for a corrupted reosean.

Breeding
Q: How do I know if a marking is dominant or recessive?
A: Each marking in the genotype has a specific letter combination that will allow you to tell if a marking is dominant or recessive. You can find all the markings with their dominant and recessive codes here: Markings and Genotypes
Q: What does it matter if a marking is dominant or recessive?
A: A dominant marking will always pass when breeding when it's a common or modifier. When it's uncommon or rare, it has modified rates (70% and 40% respectively). Breeding a dominant marking to another dominant marking (both have to be the same marking) will make the passrate 100%. Additionally, some markings act differently when they are dominant than recessive. You may refer to the specific marking on the Markings and Genotypes journal for each marking's coverage and how it acts in both its dominant and recessive form.
Q: When do slots expire?
A: Slots never expire until they are used. You can hold onto a slot for as long as you want before using it.

Q: How many times can my Reosean breed?
A: Each Reosean has a specific number of breeding slots available to them - how many they have depends on their Political Status level. |
♦ Citizens have 5 slots
♦ Recognized have 15 slots (original Citizen 5 + 10 for achieving Recognized) ♦ Exemplars have 25 slots (original Citizen 5 + 10 from Recognized + 10 for achieving Exemplar) ♦ Nobles have 40 slots (original Citizen 5 + 10 from Recognized + 10 from Exemplar + 15 for achieving Noble) ♦ Paramount Reoseans have an unlimited number of breeding slots |
Inbreeding
Q: How does inbreeding work?
A: Inbreeding becomes a factor when two Reoseans who share a common ancestor in their lineage are bred together. If the pup would then have the common name twice in their lineage they are considered inbred.

For example, breeding the Reosean on the left to the Reosean on the right...
These two Reoseans have no relatives in common. This would not result in inbreeding.
