Arm for Battle - The Reos Battle System
This guide is to items you can put on your import or take into battle that affect your stats and abilities. Please see the main guide for further information.
Armours and Weapons
◆ A Reosean needs to go into battle with a full set of armour, (head, flank, legs, saddle, chest), and a singular weapon. Each piece of armour is effectively the same - a saddle doesn’t do anything different from the legs for example. The tier of items does make a difference, as they add different amounts to your armour stat, and if you have a full set of the same tier, you get a bonus. You are allowed to mix and match armour pieces from different tiers, but can only equip one of each kind to a single import.
◆ Weapons each have different amounts of damage they do depending on the type (Physical, Arcane, Defense), and also on the tier. Physical and Defense weapons anyone can use, but Arcane requires at least one rank in the Magi Path (Sparked) to use. Defense weapons add an additional amount to your armour stat, but deal the least amount of damage.
◆ Adding and Removing armour and weapons is easy. For Basic and Sturdy, you just comment in the correct thread. For Divine and Specialty, since they are Soulbound items, you need a Soul Cleanse item when commenting on your removal. A Soul Cleanse Potion will remove ALL armour and Weapons that are Soulbound on an import (if you have not specified which one you would like removed) at the same time. Armour and weapons are not destroyed upon removal and instead returned into your bank.
◆ Some modes of battle will require a specific tier of gear to be equipped to be able to battle, and others will just recommend a specific tier or higher.
◆ Gear must be on an import and not in the bank to be used in battle.

Consumables
Either tasty or nasty, these items are essential to help cure the Reosean from status effects or damage. Some items are limited to just the preparation round or can be used at any time in a fight. The preparation round is the very first round of battle, but be careful, not everyone will use an item and use that turn for a surprise attack.
Normally a Reosean can only bring one ‘Active Battle’ item into the battle with them unless an ability or skill states otherwise. Preparatory items and Active Battle items must be stored within the bank. On the rare occasion an item is supplied by the Arena or Red Flag Hunt groups, it is not kept by the Reosean if not used. Some items can be used as Preparation, or as Active- during battle. These are labelled as both. Make sure to read the item's descriptions, too, as some may have specific requirements. |

Familiars
Little friends to aid in fights! Most of these little beasties have yet to be discovered, but once equipped on a reosean, grant special effects.
While they aid, there is no need to worry about losing them in a fight. They don’t have health, and are used once per battle. |
