NOT YET AVAILABLE
- You may read through it all and get a feel for the system as it helps understand the activity and the Red Flag Hunt, but we have not yet completed it all!-
This will be updated to be used on the Lorekeeper in future, so unfortunately it will stay closed for a while longer- our apologies!
Arm for Battle - The Reos Battle System
The battle system is loosely based on a d20 system (the majority of dice rolls are made with a 20 sided dice), where players take turns battling their reoseans against mod controlled enemies and monsters, or against other players. Mods will always do the dice rolls and determine what hits and how much damage everything takes, so the players just have to worry about having fun and not messing up stats and math. Some battle modes will be single player, while others will require teams or a group wide effort. Some events may even include other stages that aren’t just battling, but the outcome of those stages may affect things that happen in the main battle.
A simple turn consists of a comment stating what your reosean is doing, (attacking, using an item, surrendering, using an ability), with an optional choice of writing a small role-play for flavor text! A moderator will post after the player (or players in a player vs player scenario) with the results of those actions. If no one has been defeated, the battle turns will repeat! In a normal battle, it is meant to be finished in an average of 5-10 turns, although some may be longer or shorter depending on player choices and the luck of the dice!
Each class has different stats (the numbers that represent different scores such as how much health your Reosean has or how fast they are) that depend on your body type (Runner, Puller, Chaser, Tyrian) and also different abilities they can use in battle, making them all unique and little different to play. There’s nothing wrong with sticking with your favorite class, or having a mix of all different classes for different scenarios and playstyles.
What Reosean you choose to battle with is up to you!

General Rules and Info
All battle ready Reoseans have a few things they need to have before jumping into battle. ◆ A Reosean with their HCT completed and therefor Political Status (Exemplar or higher status) ◆ Full set of armour (Legs, Head, Chest, Flank, Saddle). Having a full set of the same type gives you a bonus! ◆ A single weapon (Physical, Defense, Arcane) ◆ A battle tracker |
All battle ready Reoseans can also have the following. These are optional and are not required to battle. They may give you an advantage, though! ◆ A Reosean with their SCQ completed (Paramount status) ◆ A single Preparation Round item ◆ A single Active Battle item ◆ Magic Ranks unlocked in the Magi Path ◆ Skills related to battle ◆ Familiars related to battle |
In certain events, starter Reoseans with appropriate classes and battle trackers may be loaned out, along with some armour, weapons and items for those that do not have them so everyone has the ability to participate. Details on what is available will be on the event pages.
Creating a Battle Tracker
For the most part, making a tracker is quick and easy! While it might be intimidating with all of the numbers, know that the admin team have done the majority of the work for you.
◆ The tracker must be hosted on DeviantArt. In the future, we may be able to move this to Lorekeeper, but until notice (this rule will change reflecting that at that time) it is DeviantArt only!
◆ There is a limit of One Reosean per battle tracker. If you are battling with multiple Reoseans, each must have their own tracker.
◆ To check what stats and Abilities your Reosean has, head to the Class Stats and Abilities page!
◆ To help with the breakdown of the Statblock there is a calculator >>here<<
This calculator will do the hard work for you, such as adding the numbers to the correct stat and applying any bonuses and such!
(Since DeviantArt doesn't quite allow tables, you might need to fiddle with this but as long as the information reflected is presented in a similar manner, that will be fine)
◆ The Attack and Speed stat cannot be changed outside of battle at this time, whereas the Magic stat can be changed depending on the Reosean's magical status. The type of magic your Reosean unlocks has no in game effect. Each rank up increases your Reosean's base magic stat by +2.
◆ Corrupted and Magical Reoseans have different bonuses in battle as well. Corrupted Reoseans have 0 Magic, but have +2 in Attack. They can, however, receive +2 in Magic and wield Arcana weapons if they are Sparked by using a Remnant Stone,
To start, at the top of this page there is a button leading you to the tracker templates. On this doc are all of the stats and information you will need for your battle tracker.
Find your Reosean's class and body type, and copy the template over onto a DeviantArt journal. Fill in this template with your Reosean's information, and your Tracker will look like so

Battle
Starting a Battle
The first comment is to register what reosean/s is being used in the battle. Most will be one on one fights either against monsters or against other Reoseans. The example battle and turn structure here is subject to change depending on battle mode, so please view each area of battle for a full rundown on how turns are completed.
The form is as follows: Import: Link the import here Tracker: Link the tracker here Reosean Battle Rank: Enemy: What enemy the Reosean wishes to fight. This enemy has to be in the Beastiary, has to match the Reosean's Battle Rank, and cannot be one of the limited time Red Flag Hunt bounties. The import is to double check that the information in your tracker matches the import and that your stats are correct. |
Preparation Round
The preparatory round is the first admin reply, followed by the first player/s replies. It is here the admins will confirm that your tracker is correct, and if not, will ask you to make corrections before continuing the battle.
◆ In the Preparation Round, you may use an item (it has to be in your bank) that is listed as Battle Item - Preparation, or you may jump straight into the brawl with an attack or ability!
◆ Unless otherwise stated by the ability, item or otherwise, you will only be able to take one action a turn.
◆ You will only have attacking options that match the weapons you have.
◆ If you wish to stop the battle, you may surrender at any point. Note that even if your Reosean is defeated, there are no long term effects; your Reosean does not die or take injuries, and is healed up between battles.
◆ In the Red Flag Hunt, there is no preparation round.

A Reosean may choose to do any of the bolded options that the mod gives you, which is usually:
◆ ATTACK WITH WEAPON - Attacks with the weapon the reosean has equipped.
◆ USE ABILITY - Abilities that are listed as ON USE can be used here. Sometimes these will allow the use of an attack as well, and will specify on the skills explanation.
◆ USE ITEM - The Reosean can use items it joined the battle with.
◆ SURRENDER - Ends the fight immediately, counts as a loss.

Round 1 and beyond
Round one sets up the Initiative, where the Mod will roll to see who goes first using the Speed Stat. Initiative is how quick a Reosean reacts to things. The mod rolls a 1D20, and adds the Speed stat, and highest roll goes first. In the case of a tie, the highest speed of both opponents goes first, otherwise it is a 50/50 flip if they have the same speed stat.
◆ When Initiative is set at the start of a battle, it does not change and it is not rolled again.
◆ After the Prep round, the players will see HP tracking for how much damage they have dealt to their opponent. If the enemy is another player, the total HP will be visible, whereas it will be hidden if it is a mod controlled enemy.
◆ Admins will write up the effects of what players and enemies did, such as if anyone dealt damage or items were used or are in effect. Cooldowns for abilities will also be listed.
◆ Some Abilities and Weapons may cause a Status Effect. It's important to know just what you need, in case you need to cure yourself!

Victory or Defeat
Winning is always the best outcome and it's not always possible to win everytime!
◆When the battle is over, one of two banners will be placed on the first and last comment to confirm the results and inform both the player and admin that the battle is complete!
◆ The banner informing you of your win or defeat will also be added to your Battle Tracker, along with the amount of damage your Reosean has done! Consider this a bragging right!
◆ The amount of wins your Reosean has had will be tracked by mods, so there is no need for you to track these yourself. The more wins, the higher you'll rank!
